Hey, I'm Lindsey!

Hi, I’m Lindsey Goergen, LMHC
Licensed Mental Health Counselor | Owner of Indy Mental Health and Wellness

Welcome. If you’ve found your way here, you might be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or just plain exhausted—maybe even like you’re losing your mind (you’re not, I promise). Whether you’re struggling with OCD, navigating the emotional chaos of a relationship with an addict or narcissist, or feeling like you’re walking on eggshells trying to keep everything together—I want you to know you’re not alone. And you don’t have to do this by yourself.

I’m a talk therapist with a warm, relaxed, and down-to-earth approach. My style is casual and compassionate—I laugh easily, swear sometimes (if that’s your vibe too), and always hold space for whatever you’re carrying. Therapy with me isn’t stiff or scripted. It’s human. Real. Rooted in connection, honesty, and curiosity.

My clinical work blends evidence-based approaches like CBT, I-CBT (especially for OCD), Motivational Interviewing, and ACT—but let’s be honest, therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all. I adapt to you, not the other way around. I’m trained in the Gottman Method (Level 1 & 2) for couples therapy, and I support individuals, couples, and families, mostly working with adults (though I do enjoy working with older teens when it’s the right fit).

I specialize in:

• Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) – including intrusive thoughts that feel shameful, scary, or out of character.

• Narcissistic & Psychological Abuse – the kind that leaves you doubting your reality, walking on eggshells, and wondering, “Is it me?”

• Addiction & Recovery – whether you’re battling addiction yourself or trying to support someone you love, I understand how chaotic, heartbreaking, and confusing that road can be.

I also help clients work through anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, relationship stress, PMDD, and the very real challenges of peri-menopause (yes, it’s a thing, and yes, it does get better!).

Before becoming a therapist, I lived a whole other life—including raising two incredible kids (now 22 and 17), so I know what it’s like to juggle work, motherhood, identity shifts, and all the invisible labor in between. I started grad school at 40 and haven’t looked back. I’ve now been practicing therapy for over 4 years, and many of my clients choose to stay long-term because of the trust and connection we’ve built together.

Outside the therapy room, I’m happiest near the beach, cooking something comforting, crocheting while binging a great docu-series, or hanging out with my dog, Sheldon (AKA the best boy ever!). I believe humor heals, creativity soothes, and small steps can lead to big change.

If you’re looking for a therapist who’s grounded, kind, and gets what it feels like to be in the messy middle—I’d love to meet you.

Hey, I'm Lindsey!

I believe healing begins with understanding. Therapy is a collaborative process—grounded in trust, informed by research, and tailored to your unique needs. Is there someone in your life (spouse/significant other, parent, sibling, friend) whose behavior has you questioning your own reality? Do you live, or have lived, with someone who struggles with addiction? Or someone whom you suspect may have a personality disorder? Do you find yourself walking on eggshells around them? Do you feel like there is something “wrong” with you, but you don’t know what is causing you to feel this way? Do you feel alone or like no one understands what you are experiencing and feeling? Do you struggle with intrusive and obsessive thoughts? Have you experienced the anxiety associated with Emetophobia?

In my personal life, I enjoy crocheting, hanging out with my daughter and my dog, Sheldon (you may see him around the office!), being outside (bonfires!), traveling, cooking, and rewatching my all-time favorite show, Frasier!
